Q & A

1) Hardware – what makes up a video system?

Generally a system includes components such as a industrial grade DVR, cameras (1-16), microphone (1 or more), GPS module, cables, monitor, software, removable hard drive, removable solid state drive, etc. We focus on custom solutions so it is important to us to get a clear understanding of what the customer wants in terms of functionality and then we piece together the solution accordingly. System kits can be as simple as one camera, a LDVR, and one microphone.

9) Success stories?

We are on the third generation of our DVR. Each introduction of a new RVS system pushes the industry toward a higher standard of performance. This progression has brought us to H.264 compression (which increases resolution by 25 – 30% and increase storage times by 20%), solid state hard drives, HD-like video quality, longest on-board storage times, wireless access, and the most crash worthy equipment on the market using Mil-Spec, SAE and AAR rated equipment with fire retardant materials and extreme component dampening for vibration.

In this business you are either growing or shrinking. We are happy to say our RVS division has shown success in continuously expanding year after year.

Through our manufacturing partner we've equipped the CIA and U.S. Military with 700 units for deployment. The same technology that is being used by the U.S. Military in Afghanistan and Iraq is being made available to the rail industry. The reason the U.S. State Dept. chose our equipment is because of its durability and state of the art capabilities.

Railhead Vision Systems will continue to bring the latest in technology to the rail industry because we customize and integrate our on-board monitoring systems based on our highly valued customer feedback. Request a DVD or call a customer service representative for more information.
